Sticky Issues | 2010

In the summer of 2010 I wrote a series of short poems which I compiled into a Visual Sketchbook. This is Entry #14

Some super-adhesive

substance

you are.

You can repair the most severe

cases of rips

cracks

and fractures;

bring two pieces

of wood, leather, or glass

with or without their approval

forcefully annexing them together

and yet

when my lover and I

seek your counsel

the best you can do

is bind our skin together

in such a cruel way

that if we ever did decide to part,

it would hurt.
