The Rooster from Hell | 2010
In the summer of 2010 I wrote a series of short poems which I compiled into a Visual Sketchbook. This is Entry #18
Many fear the unseen
while I shudder and tremble
because of a single creature
that lurks behinds the bushes
and disguises itself in the dark,
hearing my footsteps
and waiting for me to come out.
He has always been there
barricading the house
whenever he knew
I had to leave
his cold black heart
is coupled with no more
than a burning desire
to shred things to pieces
and dive down
soaring through the air
like a persistent eagle
diligently pursuing its prey
as it pecks away
its fury against my skin
only to stop
as I bleed before him.
