Fruity Prejudice | 2010

In the summer of 2010 I wrote a series of short poems which I compiled into a Visual Sketchbook. This is Entry #19




And even between them,

the segregation exists.

 

The blacks on one side,

the whites on another;

not to be mixed

merged

or intermingled

 

as though there was even

any difference

in taste

suppleness

or texture

 

as each class neatly huddles up

with its own fruity sect

and stays weary

of the ever-so-dangerous

other side.
