A Dog Named Elsa | 2010
In the summer of 2010 I wrote a series of short poems which I compiled into a Visual Sketchbook. This is Entry #16
She is big, heavy, and furry
shoplifting all my belongings in her free time --
as if she could ever be busy to begin with.
She steals my things
even though it is really my attention
she is trying to run away with
driving me so crazy
that she makes my blood boil
as I chase after her
making the house a mess
with her never-ending furry dress
till all the family finally gangs up on her
in a whirling merry-go-round
of "capture the four-legged thief"
her innocent eyes dilating
as she politely opens her mouth
and surrenders over my torn,
saliva-ridden
slippers.
